I have an R2 and was playing some MW2 tonight. At first the game was smooth as butter, and then the framerate dropped and gameplay got choppy. It wasn't unplayable, but noticeably sluggish.

Is there any cause for this? Could it be due to heat? After playing, I checked CPU temp via HWMonitor, and it came in at 80 celsius. Is this normal?

Also, is there an app like FRAPS for temps...so I could monitor temps in corner of screen, like framerate?

Try throttlestop.... apparently it is CPU throttling.
I have the same problem before too, with throttlestop my games runs smooth forever :)

I haven't heard of a monitoring program like that for your temps but it would be a great idea.

Anyway, like DivineAura said, it may be your CPU throttling. This ThrottleStop guide should help you out.
