So have you guys received it yet? Are you as giddy as I was when I unpacked it? Most excited I've been in some time, which is desperately sad ;)

I got the call today to say can be delivered Monday AM but had to change it to Tuesday as away on Business aggghhhhh how annoying.
ordered 13/07/10 (could have been delivered) 26/07/10 13 days door to door is very good really considering build time and coming from China.
I hope my experience is the same as Neil Mcrae.......fingers crossed :)

Got mine this morning and have been messing with it all day. Now rebuilding to factory settings for 2nd time after giving up on OCing and messing about.

It's just ace and will be my "life" book. I will work out where and why I need more performance later and compromise as needed.

(I put a longer post in the R2 owners thread)

I received mine on Tuesday, but I was so tired when I got in (4am) I just booted it up to check it was Ok and that was it.
Wednesday I installed Supreme Commander + Forged Alliance and I was pant-wettingly dissappointed with the performance. It was skipping frames on the medium setting no matter how much I tried to tweak while CPU showed 23% utilisation. High settings resulted in 5-10 fps.
Updated the Nvidia drivers to 258.96 (modified inf file as the m11x isn’t included in the official listing) and that fixed it to +50fps – it’s like a completely different laptop!
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...er-258-96-beta-discussion-relating-11xr2.html

Since fixing the driver, I’m very pleased with mine for all the reasons stated by many before. I especially like the stealth finish and though the screen is reflective, this will primarily be played VERY late at night anyway. Still looks a little washed out to me; contrast ratio could be a lot better but that said, if they upgrade it in the future, I don’t think I’ll swap mine out and an upgraded screen using the same technology will affect battery life further and there's always an external monitor. A lot of people have said they’d want a higher resolution, but for me the res is ample.
My only gripes (which I don’t recall being mentioned elsewhere) are:
    1. I can see no reason why the SD card reader couldn’t have been deeper. It would have been nice if I could have my 32Gb SDHC card sitting permanently plush for backups
    2. This may be fixable as I haven’t had time to investigate but I can’t find a way of getting the Nvidia GPU to kick in when my OpenGL screensavers starts. It’s only a screensaver but the OpenGL ones run irritating badly. I did specify it in the Nvidia options but it makes no difference

Maybe in an update unless anyone knows of a fix

The Slappa MX Hardcase fits this thing like a glove and there’s enough space for my headphones (PMX100s), PSU, wireless mouse and some backup media. The supplied Alienware mains plug was a little too fat for my case though, so I bought a Slimplug from Maplins for £7.99 which has folding pins. I also bought an Akasa Aries Netbook Cooler which is aluminium (£15 from Amazon) and you can move the location of the fan. width is fine as is fan location, but it's a little shallower than the m11x.

Justmeinit> I assume by the time you read this, you’ll have received yours by now. Ok, not your day off on Thursday but least you’ve got it for the weekend! That’s not bad for dispatch from China on Monday.

cia02agm> Sorry to hear that; £330 would have been daylight robbery though! As Justmeinit stated £880 is still a bargain for what you’d be getting. For £880, there’s nothing I’ve seen out there which has appealed or holds the uniqueness of the m11x i7

I don't intend to overclock my CPU unless I have to. Think I should be Ok with what I want to play. Last day at work before holidays, so I've only just got in... and now I've got to head out so Sunday afternoon it will have to be. Very pleased with what little I've experienced so far but I’ll be testing the little fella like mad come Sunday.
Let’s hope he’s up to it!

What's the router setup? Just a stab in the dark but I had/have issues too..

    1. Does not recognise channel 13, which my router was on.
    2. Connects in G mode but not N mode, still looking into this

Just a shot in the dark, but with regards to your no. 2:
In your router's menu, under settings... wherever you've got an advanced wireless settings tab; have you checked you have "radio" enabled?

Yes, and it does connect in the slower G mode. I need to go through some of the other settings and see if I can get just 150Mbps N running rather than 300Mbps.

[Edit] Fixed by using different security settings at the router end (AES)

Alright here goes. Bear in mind this was in August.

    i7
    4GB RAM
    500GB HD

£1049 w/standard 1 year warranty. I purchased worldwide accidental with my home insurer for about £6/month.

I've since OC'd to 166Mhz and it now flies with TS @ 4/100/100. Managed a GPU OC to 585, but it's not very stable and haven't played around long enough to find an opimal OC.

I also purchased the Razer Orochi - looks sick next to the m11x - and Kabuto mousepad which doubles as a screen protector. Also bought a couple carrying cases including a Radtech MacTruck (best case ever).

    Absolutely delighted with it!

I've just ordered an R1, I guess they're clearing them out as they've delisted on the US site now.

    Anyway, price was £499, although I should be getting £48 cashback via topcashback.co.uk. SU7300, 4GB RAM, 500GB 7200 RPM HDD, 335M.

How long does it normally take them to send order confirmation though? I got the 'Order Acknowledgement' with IR number last night, but no further communication and I can't track my order.

Anyone know what the typical lead time is?

    Thanks
