I know this probably belongs elsewhere but everyone is running i7.. i got the fast track i5 system 4gigs ram, i5-520um... i overclocked the CPU FSB to 166mhz and then overclocked the GPU 550 clock, 850 memory and ran 3dmarko6 and got 7700 =). I got a cpu score of 1800.

Thank you, thank you, this is so much reassurance that it builds upon the M11xR1 rather than rivalling it.

That's a really good score! The proper proof though, consists of a screenshot with CPU-Z and GPU-Z... you guys never looked into official benchmarking threads? :p

    I think the highest OC'ed R1s got around 6700?

I think that was the highest I saw :)

The M11xR1 could be pushed to 7100, and even that was a rarity, and the first bench on the i5 M11xR2 and already it's 7700. If it can be pushed to 8100, that's reason enough for me to purchase it. Oh wait- I already have, lol.

Not the early R1 benchmark thread! Thanks for link! That was interesting :)

Okay, it's obvious that GTA4, is the one that must be tested.

The only m11x bench, is 25 FPS, with everything at low and off at 800x600. That one is the killer.

THAT will be the one to test R2 with, I say! but the different patches gives different performance?

I wonder what patch icarus_II used for his bench!

That is only 800 points higher and on a synthetic test, we really need someone to test APB or something and show some better game performance.

    Good speed Ash.

GTA 4... You will never find a more horrible optimized game. Ported by Satan from the PS3, to PC... This port will go over in history, as the horror benchmark of our time.

The faith of free computing is in your hands now Ash.

    God speed. God speed!

    Keep pushing it ;)

Are you using rivatunner/msi after burner? ;) Don't forget you can O/C the shaders as well.

Temps will be fine. The cooling system is very well designed in Alienwares, and if anything does go kaput, there are internal sensors designed to cutoff power at a certain temperature (usually in the 105-120C range).

As for an overclocking utility, I would recommend EVGA Precision over Afterburner, but maybe that's just personal preference.

Tassadar, any updates on max score? I am guessing there is still plenty of headroom left in the GPU. :)

reached 7960, couldnt top 8k (probably could if i didnt sync core speed with shader speed and tweaker shader speed but too lazy)... im stable at 560 core/890 memory and 1344 shader with a 7.8k 3dmark06... not too shabby =).

72C is not that bad for the GPU, pretty toasty for the CPU though, and toasty for the laptop overall.

I've logged GPU temps while playing Mass Effect 2 and 64-70C is the effective range I'm seeing.

That is close to impossible unless you are OCing your cpu past 166mhz fsb.

Do have an Intel SSD in mine if that makes any difference. Fairly sure I didn't tweak the GPU but may have. Why so suprised ? Loads of people have got over 7,000. Think highest I've seen in the threads is 7,126 using some hacked drivers.

Yea there have been a lot of R1's that got upwards of 7100. That is why we were all a little disappointed the iX cores only added like 800 points.

I get around 7200 with sum special drivers on my m11x r1... Is not impossible...

Like yoda said we are disappointed of ix cores... You get lower battery life and 15%-20% more cpu performance which is good but not *that great...
