Hey Just got my 2nd motherboard replacement AND screen replacement. Seems like this time around my CMOS battery is faulty because my BIOS clock is resetting every restart.

It's my 5th call to dell... I'm getting tired of this. I love my m11x R2, think I could get either a new R2 or haggle for an R3 for the 10+ hours I've been on with customer service?

the clock reset started happening to me a few days ago
    mobo replacement on the way
i doubt there is any way to get the r3 maybe a warranty extension for the r2 might be possible

They sent you a refurb mb?

I got them to allow me to refund the laptop even though was 45 days if I purchased a r3 on the spot (which I did, and thus far glad I did). But I think in part mine was a refurb and had issues from the beg. Which took me awhile to identify as I thought bad drivers alone.

edit 2: called before they closed... they wont replace anything except the battery. Even though its been my 5th service call. yay AW.

Well considering this MoBo had a depleted CMOS I'd think It actually was refurb. But what do I know.

No, at least I haven't encountered them. The problems was with the GPU they used, the r3 uses a different gpu, and to answer your Q in other thread. The r3 just came out 3 months ago. Don't expect a new version until next april(ish).
