How do i turn on face bright in aliensense? i've followed the direction in aliensense help but still cant figure out how to do it. I've searched everywhere and found nothing about this topic...so if you can point me in the right direction please do.
-
Doesn't it come on Automatic?
-
sit in a dark room and attempt to log in with the aliensense - it should work automatically. it's mostly a marketting gimmick anyways.
-
i've tried it in a dark room...the screen doesnt turn white. By default its turned off, but i cant find the option to turn it on.
-
It should be in the command center at Aliensense.
-
AlienSense felt like a gimmick to me in general.
-
i cant figure out how to turn on face bright so i just disabled it and not have to deal with it.
-
If I could ask, what versions of AlienSense do all of you have? You may find this by right clicking the AlienSense "eye" icon in your system tray and choosing "About". Thanks! -
Version 2.4.95 is the version of aliensense that i'm using
-
If anyone else can also provide their version number, that would be great. Sensible Vision remains committed to providing the best possible products and to supporting them strongly. In this case the more information that I can get from all of you, the better I can help to assess the situation. Thanks! -
-
I also have no Facebright options with Version 2.4.95 . I have all latest updates Bios, OSD, AlienFX, Drivers ect.

If either of you having this issue would like to contact me directly, I'd like to take a quick trouble-shooting step that would be easier to explain in a direct email or phone call. Please feel free to reach out to me through any of the publicly available email addresses on our website (Sensible Vision is the company name...sorry...my message might be flagged if I post the email addresses directly here). Thanks!

Email sent.
Thanks for helping us out. -
I contacted svrep through email as instructed above and followed his instructions and I now have Face Bright working again !
Thank you svrep for your helpful support. -
why dont you guys post the solution here so everyone knows what to do?
Thank you , -
@jpyaa
you'll have to contact svrep through email for instuctions as it involves a download via ftp and some command line input. -
The instructions are a little involved. It also includes info that svrep doesn't need everyone to have. It works great now and seems to be faster/more accurate. Thanks for the great support svrep! -
Now working, big thanks to SVREP!
-
Thanks SVREP, got it working just fine. I had no idea this was a feature until I saw this topic!

Sorry guys, but I've had to remove this due to a copyright claim from Sensible Vision. Please direct all further requests for assistance to svrep.

I am actually happy to help people directly because I genuinly want people to have the benefits of FaceBright. I appreciate your patience with the method in which I must provide the fix in this case. Thanks. -
Hi I am a new member and my issue seems to be the same like a few owners of M11x's. I own an Alienware M17x R1, I have downloaded the latest Bios A05 and also updated my Command Centre to the latest Version 2.4.95. My issue is that my Drop Down Box to activate Face Bright has disappeared and as i use it in dark conditions I would like to get it activated. Is there anybody that can help me here. I have also posted this issue on the M17x posts so hopefully I should get a reply. Thanks

I am also suffering from this problem, running version 2.5.54.0. I cannot PM you due to the ridiculous rules of this forum, could you please help me out SVREP? Or someone who has the proper instructions? Thanks!

I know this thread is a few months old but I would like to remind everyone that has any of the Alienware m series gaming laptops (including me, as I have the m11x-R1) and use AlienSense that the newer versions of Command Center (mainly AlienSense) do not contain the FaceBright feature. In short, if you update Command Center expect some features to break or to be removed. I actually confirmed this by calling Alienware myself to attempt getting FaceBright re-added to AlienSense. What I was basically told was "We removed the feature [Face Bright] because we felt that it was unnecessary and none of our users actually use the feature." Isn't that a load of bull? Apparently they don't bother to actually look into something before making changes, but what ever. So after some very disappointing calls with tech support I became frustrated (especially when the guy sounded like a broken record and eventually disconnected the call) and I contacted SV via the email listed on their site for "Dell users". After answering some questions about what I was comfortable doing on the computer, which I admit I found amusing, I was provided the steps to put Face Bright back on my m11x. I am no longer frustrated with AlienSense, but still frustrated with the lack up tech support since Dell bought out Alienware.
To recap bluntly:
"Thank you very much for the assistance!" goes out to the Sensible Vision team for creating AlienSense and to the rep's I worked with to get FaceBright back. -
I had to Re-Install Win7 on my M11x because of some Messed up Spyware. I had Both CyberLink YouCam and Aliensense Preloaded and Also Working with the facebright Option Enabled. Now The Face Bright Option is Gone. I Also Lost the YouCam Preload. I have Installed another Trial Version. I just googled for some info on this, and I saw this Forum. SVREP, I don't see your contact information on the SensibleVision Site. Can you Please Help? Thanks.
