Do you need an active displayport to dvi cable to connect from m11x displayport to a dvi monitor? or a passive one will do?

    thanks

I don't have my M11x yet, but my understanding is that DisplayPort is a digital output, so all you need is the passive DisplayPort to DVI adapter cable. Those are the cables that Dell is selling on their site.

I bought this DisplayPort to DVI cable from monoprice for about $10. It's connected to my 24" LCD via an Avocent DVI KVM and easily feeds 1920 x 1200.
