    Quick question.

Id like to hook my M11x up to my 30" display

If I purchase a Displayport to DVI-D cable will I get full 2560x1600 Res?

Just curious as I know there are Active and passive adapters out there and the prices are vastly different.

I know the ATI Eyefinity peeps need Active, but I assume the passive cable is fine for my purposes.. yay or nay?

I wouldn't be able to tell you until I get the adapter, but I've been told only chance to use it for it's native resolution 2560x1600 is to buy the adapter.

Nay. You will need an active connector, like the one Achilles referenced.

    From Wikipedia article about DisplayPort:
"A notable limitation is that Dual-mode can only transmit single-link DVI/HDMI, as the number of pins in the DisplayPort connector is insufficient for dual-link connections and an active converter is needed for Dual-Link DVI and analog VGA"
