I'm cleaning up my process list and have started pruning my M11x process list. Here are a list of services I have set to "Manual" start without loss of functionality:

    Andrea RT Filters Service (unknown)
DW WLAN Tray Service (causes crashes, does not appear to work at all)
FF Install Filter Service (aka free fall)

Does anyone else have recommended Services to turn off?

Andrea RT - has to do with Realek audio. I've left it running.
DW WLAN - disable that without fear. it's junk of the highest order.
FF Install Filter - this detects when a new drive is installed and makes the appropriate changes to FF protection. I've left it running on mine as it's not utilizing any appreciable amount of resources. I suspect that it would be ok to set to Manual or disable. I'd research that just to sure though.

Someone posted here (Sorry I can't remember your handle) that Soluto was quite a good tool for shaving the lamas bottom, no, sorry, shaving off the excess processes at startup and speeding up startup time.

I used it without any dramas.

At least if nothing else, it can assist in identifying processes.

I have had to manually invoke the delayed processes (MySQL and etc) a couple of times when testing things directly after a startup. But without dramas.

Soluto does have a fun little interface and very chatty regrading process information and what can and shouldn't be removed.

It helped identify a few processes lurking in the bowls of my system that didn't need to be there.

    I'll be researching that one.

    Just turned these to manual:
    Windows Media Network Sharing
Both Windows Mobile 2003 options (I connect with BlueTooth)

    Nothing has broken yet. :D

Edit: My computer seems to be connecting much faster now.

That's exactly what I'm looking for! I'll be testing the "tweaked" configuration.

    Thanks!

I set everything to the "tweaked" settings and set to manual anything I couldn't identify. It's probably simpler to point out the 2 I did need:

    FAService = face recognition software
    WLAN config = auto-connect to a network

My system is running much smoother. Thanks for the help guys!
