My screen has been dimming 2-3 minutes after I'm idle (watching a movie or whatever) regardless of what my settings are in the power management options. Currently the "dim the screen" option is set for never/never for battery/plugged in on all the plans, but I still find the screen going dim after a couple minutes (and it stays that way) unless I alt-F4 to bring the brightness back up.

I prefer to have my laptop set on maximum brightness with no dimming. Am I missing something somewhere?

Yep, you have to change the power options in the alienware command center. This over rides the native windows power options.
