Hi everyone I recently bought a alienware mx11 r2 and Marvel vs Capcom 2 is not working well at all.
I am able to play it just fine on my desktop.
What doesn't make sense to me is that I hear alienware mx11 r2 can play games like left 4 dead 2 but MvC2 is so slow.
My desktop which can play MvC2 just fine is Sony Vgc Rb30, has 512 mb of ram, other mods on this page
Sony VGC-RB30 Specifications - Intel Pentium 4, Desktop
The alienware mx11 r2 has cpu i5 ulv, 4 gb of ram and this graphics card 1 GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 335 M.
I don't really know my computer stuff but I think the graphics card on the alienware is stronger...? so shouldn't it be easily capable of playing MvC2. This game is around 8 or more years OLD.
My problem is when fighting . Char select screen, mode selection are all quick. VPS:20-30 something % like 50-70 when fighting, not smooth at all
Help please
I've tried right-clicking on the application for nulldc run it with graphics processor nvidia.

Are you whitelising your games? If you don't, the system may stay in integrated-mode, therefore leading to poor gaming performance.
Up to date with your nVidia drivers? -
Yes right click on screen and select Nvidia control panel, then select 3d to access whitelist. Look on youtube for optimizing m11x optimus. Hope this helps. Like said above your probably just running your game on the integrated GPU.

I get around 80fps while playing it without v-synch, it can drop to 60fps in a special attack, and this at 1366x768 res, maybe is the version you have, or you need to change some setup settings...
With v-synch I can get 60fps and no lag at all, I only have problems with the controllers, is a pain to get a decent setup....
I have the i5, 4GB of RAM, latest nvidia drivers, and I used the launcher of the game with the nividia setup, because you cannot whitelist the game, just the launcher of the game, since is emulation.... -
99.9% of the time if you're getting terrible performance in a game (especially a game like Marvel vs Capcom) it's because you need to set the game's .exe to use the high-end graphics card. Go into your nvidia control panel and set the game's .exe to use the geforce card.

Followed the directions above, nvidia control panel, 3d settings, program settings. Selected program to customize in my case nulldc_100b1_6exe, since I'm emulating. Selected high-performance nvidia processor. applied, closed control panel reopen to make sure what I did went through. But I'm seeing vps 50 ish max. During fighting it 35-45ish range. On the options of nulldc the first section nulldc settings it listed this: Show, Enable Dynarec, Enable CP Pass, Underclock FPU, Cable Type, System Region, Broadcast format.
I have enabled dynarec and cp pass. Underclock did not seem to help so I unenabled. Under Cable type I selected VGA(1)(RGB). -
I'm considering if I should return my refurb alienware mx11 i5 4 gb ram. Cause I have followed the directions, looked at youtube video and copied their steps. Time is running out, received the unit on the 31st of January. I need to fix this. Baffles me that desktop I bought almost a decade ago, popped in the game works flawless. Transferred the same game, same settings to the supposed monster of a notebook and its having big time trouble. I know that desktops are obviously more capable than notebooks but this is frustrating.
Made sure I enabled the game to use nvidia graphics, not the integrated graphics card. Even before I opened the game I right-clicked and highlighted run with Graphics processor and lo and behold the nvidia graphics processor is indeed on default, so I'm not using the integrated graphics card. I do have the latest nvidia driver in case those trying to help miss my other posts.
Actually the VPS when I am fighting now (on alienware mx11) drops to 27-37, almost never getting 40 and above when fighting unless just like standing. the 35-45ish i listed above was when I didn't have another character on screen helping, or when the opponent didn't.
Where are you Vidaluko? Come back please considering you've got a good 30 vps more than me, and what sounds like identical alienware mx11 (i5, 4 gb ram) -

I think this has more to do with your nullDC settings rather than the hardware itself. Make sure you have the latest version of nullDC because old versions do not support Windows 7 64-bit.
Did I waste my money? help
