hey congratz on your r3, anyway the 1.6- 2.6 is an automatic overclock called turbo boost and its in all the i5 and i7 processors. it engages when your doing something CPU intensive (i.e. gaming) also, yes thats an awesome price, you paid less for the i7 than the regular price of the i5 is and im assuming u got some other stuff with it too right? (upgraded harddrive, more Ram, etc.)

You sure you got the R3 mate? The one with the GT540M? Cos even on that site and after putting one through checkout it's coming to $1,149.00 after the instant savings + $50 coupon.

The original price is $1,369 and it already has an instant savings of $170 which brings it down to $1,199. With the code "BHW1L0MX0D?MCX" which is the only one i can find for the R3, that only gives it another $50 discount. Far from the $874 you're quoting which is why i wanted to make sure you didn't get the R2 which is what i got for that almost exact same price.

The R2 also has the i7, the difference is the GPU. The R2 has the 335M, the R3 has the 540M. Which does yours have?

Yea, thought so. The R3 is still too new to be at such a low price lol. But on the bright side if you used the $315 coupon code you get a brand new R2, not a refurbished one.

The main differences between the two:
    1st gen i7 VS 2nd gen i7
4GB RAM standard VS 8GB RAM standard
    GT335M VS GT540M

The GPU actually does make a bit of a difference but it all depends on what games you're going to be playing. I play less demanding and slightly older games so for me even the 335M is more than enough to play everything on high settings.

He got the R2 with with i7-640 and 335GT.
I did the whole configuration thing and looked at the final specs.
Its still a great laptop with those specs but its not a i7 SB with 540M.
    @ OP
You might want to look closer at your final spec sheet order, you might no be ordering the model you think you are.

Diablo 3 is next year now right. So no rush probably a r4 by the time it gets released.

Yep i got the R2 also, to me the price difference of $300 (after the $170 instant savings) just wasn't worth the extra features since i already have a high-end gaming laptop. I wanted the R2 for portability, and not to mention when i return to Australia i can sell it for about $1,000 2nd hand.

Diablo 3 won't be out until maybe March/April of next year, and that's only if it isn't delayed again. So it depends if you NEED that laptop now or if you want to wait a few months and see if the R3 drops in price or if there's a good coupon code for it by then.
