Long time lurker, first time poster. There is no thread on this issue so I think I'm OK making one on it.

I just received my m11x R2 (Core i5). When I run Diablo 2 I get only sound and no video and then, after a few seconds, the game minimizes. while it is loading the screen goes a bit crazy, minimizing and maximizing, changing sizes, etc. I added the game to the Nvidia applications list--no luck. Does anyone know how I can fix it or at least diagnose the problem and move forward?

    Thank you.

You might need to run Diablo 2 in compatibility mode and/or allow it to run as an administrator.

Just out of curiosity, do you have keyboard touching the lcd screen issue?

Thank you. I ran D2 as an administrator in a few different compatibility modes but none of them worked. The screen still jumped around all over and then settled on what looked like a 800x600 shot of my desktop while the D2 sounds played. There were black bars down either side of the screen since the screen had been shrunk. When I close D2, it goes back to proper resolution.

This is a setting for the Intel graphics, you need to set it to stretch the image to full resolution, by default it just centers it, and since the Intel is always doing the actual rendering on the R2 it is the setting that matters.

Thank you. I set the Intel to "fit to screen" and the game now loads up well. One problem remains: the introduction graphics (with the Blizzard splash screen) do not load; rather, the first split second of it begins and then it freezes while the sound continues as normal. I hit "esc" and get to the main screen OK.

I have this problem with CS 1.6 as I had fixed the resolution in game but when I minimize or alt tab I can't get back into the game. It just doesn't reload for some reason, and I'm pretty sure it's a resolution issue.

You should take the response as "don't hijack threads for your own personal use" :p

This is a great site for info.. I am appreciated..

I am however confused. This person only asked is your screen touching the keys too?..

    A) yes.. there is another thread on the topic.. search for it and you'll find great info on it.

now that would have been a better answere.

You, on the other hand, were rude.

Now I just posted this great link to a comparison of R1 vs R2 and that got bashed too. So, I removed it.

This is starting to be a none user friendly site for new users due to some folks like yourself.. that just want to type a bash reply.

Lets try not to do that.. this site is really good for info.

There are a lot of threads, but there is also a search function. While this isn't a big deal, hijacking a thread when one is already available does slow down the process of helping each other on a forum--especially one as good as this.

Hard to find? Are you serious? The hinge issue discussion is on page TWO. That is NOT hard to find, not by a long shot. There is a search function. And you are not supposed to derail other peoples topics with something completely one hundred percent unrelated.

So why don't you, how did you put it, "have more than a pea brain" and click the single button it would have taken to find the page.

I know you weren't the one in the need of the info, but the point remains. There's another page for that issue. It's not hard to find. looking4pftnb tried to hijack the thread. Goldsun1715 pointed out there is another topic for it. Which is true.

    Alienware Forum Rules

"Posts in the Alienware forum must be constructive and related to the topic" - what looking4pftnb posted was off topic, pure and simple.

And to post on topic. I haven't tried Diablo II yet, however, I've gotten games like the first Fallout and a port for Doom to work okay. Try Googling something along the lines of "Diablo II not working Windows 7"? That might help.
