    I am a 3 day old owner of a new i7 R2.
I am trying the determine the manufactuer of my blueish tint display and looked in device manager however only see generic.
Based on what I have read if its made by AOU then there is a calibartion tool on this forum that can fix my "blues".

Can anyone tell me how to determine the manufactuer ?

Device Manager > right-click on Generic PnP Monitor > Properties > Details tab > Hardware Ids

It will either be an AUO105C or an SEC5441. If you have an AUO then try the first of my two ICC profiles. Follow the instructions in the calibrated profile link in my sig for how to install the profile and configure your system to keep the gamma LUT from resetting.

Better in the sense that slickie88 has a tool to improve the display quality.

    Perhaps.

The display characteristics of these low-end LCD panels is pretty varied one to the next. My second AUO is significantly less bright than the first. My next one, after I get it replaced in a month or two will likely be a little different as well. The profiles I'm creating are accurate for my panel at the time they were created. A lot of people have reported that my profiles are proving an improvement in grayscale and getting rid of the heavy shift to blue, while others are reporting that it doesn't. YMMV.
