Hi all, could do with some help on this one.

I ran some wwan cables behind the lcd, fitted the Dell 5520 wwan card and cant get it working.

I installed the appropriate drivers from Dell which I got from this page the card shows in Device manager however is only showing active on 1 COM port, I believe it should show on 2 com ports (Diagnostics & Sim ports).

When I query the modem via device manager -> diagnostics tab it fails to respond also.

I am using Dell Wireless Manager that also errors with 'No Mobile Broadband Modem'.

Wwan is enabled in the bios.

Did you try reaching out to the guy who did the write-up?

Granted, someone here may have followed this same process but to save time, I'd shoot the author a message.

Let us know how it works out - nice article. :)

I followed his instructions but my issue is that when my device manager detects the hardware it only shows 2 dataports with missing drivers; others have 4 data ports. I wonder if im missing a sim card driver or similar?

Surely the 5520 drivers are for the wwan modem, could i be missing the sim/card reader driver files?

make sure that you show hidden hardware on the 5530 there is a hidden parent device
