I have read around how the hdmi ports on laptops are output only. Is the Display Port on the M11x an input? so would something like this
    [IMG]
Amazon.com: Display Port Male to HDMI Female Adapter: Electronics work for connecting an hdmi from my xbox to the adapter and having it display on my M11x screen? Sorry if this is a dumb idea

And its an M11x R1 if that matters

Was still looking around and ran into this Review by Ign. "The M11x includes two passive USB ports, one powered USB port, an IEE1394a (4-pin) port, VGA-output, HDMI-output, DisplayPort-output, 2 audio output jacks, and one microphone jack." Dreams Crushed

Yes you can, you can use any laptops screen for games but you just need a input/capture device.

The cheapest one out there is an easycap, but results will vary depending on your systems power as it has to decode the video in real time.

Yes, you need some kind of video capture device to use your M11x as a dumb display. There are plenty of them available - you just need to find one that supports HDMI, DisplayPort, Component Video, or VGA input.

However, for the price you'd pay for that, I'd recommend that you just spend the money on a small HDTV instead.

Video capture devices add a delay. The Adaptec GameBridge supposedly minimizes this, but it was detectable when I tested it. Also, it's standard def only. :(

m11x display is junk and due to the capture card you might notice delays you are better off buying a $75 monitor from craigslist a used lcd like 15" or 17" that has vga or dvi and hook that up to xbox and get a much better picture quality and no lag.

I'd agree with the above, but I'll add that the M11x R3 will probably have a video input, since that was added to the new M17x.

There's a US$30 ebay kit which could be used to mod an input into your internal LCD as discussed. This is quite an advanced mod.
