It seems like all you guys are running the one with the i7? How does the Core2duo compare when running low-medium settings of main stream games (COD, SCII, Civilization etc)?

I'm not as savvy. Will it SCII run stock on medium? Do I need to upgrade to 4GB ram? Thanks! +rep

2gb ram is fine as long as your system is optimized. but you may want to overclock, using the bios.

While 2 GB will do, the 4 GB upgraded is the suggested amount of RAM for gaming,

    Model: M11x R1 SU7300 1.3Ghz (Over-clocked to 1.6Ghz)

Play Crysis V1.0 on medium with no problems.

Over-clocked at 1.6Ghz the CPU handles most day to day tasks.

I too, would suggest 4GB RAM as a baseline.

Cause people have had time to play with the M11x R1 the following is possible.
    • Standard CPU 1.3Ghz (Out of the box)
    • Over-Clock CPU to 1.6Ghz using Standard BIOS setting (Beginner)
    • Over-Clock CPU to 1.73Ghz with PinMod(Intermediate)
    • Over-Clock the CPU to any clock using TME mod (ICS only, Intermediate)
    • Over-Clock CPU to 2.0Ghz with PinMod(Advance)
    • Over-Clock GPU to approximate 550/1400/850(Beginner)
    • Voltage Modify GPU via BIOS from 0.9V to 0.95V giving higher GPU over-clocking/stability(Intermediate)
So, something for everyone as one progresses through different levels of confidence.

    You forgot this:
    • Overclock the CPU to any clock using TME mod (ICS only, Intermediate)

I would change the 1.73Ghz pinmod to Intermediate as it's not a complex job involving soldering. It's just run in, cut the pin, reassemble and hope RAM is stable.
