    R4 where art thou.

The 11 is the only dates exterior of the whole lineup. The vents are angled like a 80s Honda civic.

Come on Dell update it already!

The issue is a lot of people find the exterior very nice. Just a reason why you may have issues.

It doesnt look bad but the styling of the vents is very old and angular. Like the r2 17x. 14,17 and 18 all have the new styling meanwhile the m11 has been the same since it's inception. Time for a change

If its not broken, don't fix it.

The style is repetitive yes, but I've had all three of the revisions and they all maintain below 75 degrees C unless you stress test the GPU.

All I want is the option for an Andonized Aluminum case for the M11x, like the other Alienware laptops. The plastic case is nice and all but...I like metal beter :D

Metal case on the m11x would add to much weight for the mobile nich that it is built for. I to like the insurance that metal gives but I do not see it for the m11x. ;)

Wtb m12x with 12" high res IPS / carbon, magnesium or metal instead of plastic.

The current chassis can easily fit a 12" screen. The bezel is huuuge.

IPS screen would add another third to the cost easily. You're buying a gaming machine not a frickin' Apple.

I hate that saying. If we didn't fix it we might just live in caves because it doesn't need fixing and shelter is shelter.

On topic, I agree with DeeVu, the exterior is okay, most people get this laptop for its quality and performance, not looks and it is already shaped good. It MIGHT need a little adjustments.

Do suppose you have a point.
But I still wish they offered a metal case, even if it did add tons of weight.

I have to disagree with you there. The Alienware M11x is already overweight for its size. It is a 11.6" machine that has the weight of a 14" machine. If you added even MORE weight to it, and brought its weight up to 5.5lbs - 6.0lbs, then you just killed its portability.

Why even bother buying an Alienware M11x, at that point? If I'm carrying close to 6.0lbs, I might as well carry a 14" gaming laptop instead.

There are a lot more important issues that Alienware would need to fix before the design.

I would like to see an LCD panel in the M11x with better image quality.
I would like to see a larger LCD panel, and a thinner bezel.
I would like to see some weight trimmed off of the M11x body.
I would like to see them have some kind of swappable battery mechanism.
I would gladly see them focus on somehow cramming more CPU / GPU power into that laptop body, before they spend time redesigning the shape of the exterior.

Of all the things that I'd like to see done to an Alienware M11x, I'd have to say that an aesthetic redesign is pretty low on the list.

i actually love the design and hope they dont change it. The screen size could be bigger but my r1 is easily the best laptop i have ever owned. R1 FTW!!!!
