Hey, I have kinda of a noob question I am looking how am I able to do a good maintenance to my laptop I use it mostly for gaming and lately I think my CPU is running a lil slower than before I mostly play Starcraft 2 and before I could play multiplayer with no problem on high but now it laggs. What kinda cleaning I should do? Any other thing I can do I really have not done much with the computer, and I am certain I should treat it better with a monthly cleaning or something. I need to get to know a little more about this kind of details any help will do good.

I must imagine this is not the first time ppl post some things related to this topic.

You would need a fresh windows installation(software maintenance) or only software cleaning... and dust cleaning ( hardware maintenance ).

I guess this video can show you how clean your laptop.

For software cleaning, go get a system tuning bit of software (I use CCleaner from Piriform) and clean out all the logs and other accumulated crud that programs don't tidy up after themselves. Then have a look at the various programs installed and remove any that are not needed (I took out most of the Dell/Alienware bloatware when my R3 arrived) - stuff like the bing/google/ask/yahoo/lycos toolbars, any av/firewall trial or productivity tool trials that come preloaded. It is a good idea to compare what processes are running in task manager to the installed programs, google any you are unsure about and find out if they are really needed or not, and remove the one that aren't. And then (assuming you don't have an SSD) make sure that a weekly defrag has been setup, perhaps grab a proper defrag tool (I use auslogic) to optimise the drive.

Of course, back everything up and create a system restore point before doing this!
