I gave in and got a momentus xt for my m11x just recently.. when it arrived I cloned my full-to-the-brim 160gig standard drive with windows backup, threw it on my 500gig external and tried to restore my files and system settings to the momentus that way, but after running into tons of problems I decided it wasn't worth it and just did a clean install and manually copied my files over.

The problem though is that now I can't get the function key alienware commands to work. I installed all the drivers for the m11x off of the dell website (except for the communications ones since those were for mobile broadband which I don't have, and one of the drivers that seemed like it was for a specific hard drive that I don't have), I've got command center installed and the graphics switching working just fine(fn+f6), but I can't get fn+pause (command center) or fn+prt screen (alienfx) to work, and I've also lost the onscreen volume, brightness, wifi, and display switch indicators (the blue box that appears in the middle of the screen, and incremental volume control instead of standard windows 7 control). Anyone know how I can restore them?

Do you know where I could find an OSD driver for the m11x? The one provided in that link is for the m17x

Thanks - once I downloaded that driver and saw the driver number, I realized I had already downloaded it when I was installing the drivers, but must have accidentally not installed that driver - so I just found the driver in my downloads and installed it, and voila everything is working like new. thx for helping a noob :D

That's one thing I love about Dells. They really have a great support site to download drivers after a re-install. And it's easy to see what downloads are drivers, and which ones are bloatware.

I recently did a clean format on a friend's HP Envy 14, and HP's support site was terrible. It was hard to read, hard to find anything, and it was loaded with all of the bloatware that I specifically reformatted the machine to remove.
