    Hello everyone,

I would like to upgrade my wi fi card on my alienware m11x r2. I read on the forums that if I am upgrading to the bigfoot killer 1102 I might need 3 antennas? I dont understand how this works. Is there anywhere stating how I can be able to install this wi fi card if it requires 3 antennas? Also, these are the wireless cards I found

Which one is the correct one the top one or the mini one?

    Thanks.

    1102 has two antennas
    1103 has three antennas

There is only one kind of 1102, they are all the same size, etc... I bought the one that is $45, very good seller/card. If you get the 1103 (not much of reason to) then you have to add an antenna, but you should just stick with the 1102.

As mentioned, 1102 has 2 antennas, 1103 has 3. The M11x (all models) only has 2 antennas in the lid assembly, so if you get the 1103 you will only be able to utilize 2 antennas unless you use a mod like this to ad an external 3rd antenna.

Yes, all you need to do is unplug the 2 antenna cables, remove the screws and pop it out. Opening the back panel gives you access to everything, just remember to disconnect your battery beforehand.

+1, it is pretty easy to install though, just take your time with it.
