I got a refurb today with a few problems but the first is the CAPS light on the top panel is always lit. Is there a known fix for this?

Otherwise, it has way more wear than I expected considering I have bought Dell refurb laptops in the past. They also sent me a large Dell powerbrick with it. Doesn't the m11x have a smaller adaptor?

Contact Support ASAP. The power brick does not sound right at all. Yes, it should be small.

Given both items, I'm leaning towards suggesting a return or asking for another outlet/refurb be sent out. Not worth the hassle.

Dell RMA'd it for me and paid for the shipping. At least I got to use it all weekend and confirm this is the laptop for me.

One more question. The fan is kind of loud on the right side and always going. The left one kicks only with load. Is the right one performing normal?

I think I am going to order a new one as my replacement but now may wait for either a really good deal, or for the next release which will be a while :(

You're talking about two fans, but the M11x only has 1 :p And it's located near the VGA connector. The only moving part on the right is the HDD, but it's in the front of the laptop (right of the touchpad).

    I hope this helps :)

Wow, the HD is kind of noisey. The fan is stealth when idle.

Yeah, it can make quite some noise :p Yet another reason why many people switched to SSDs :) When running on the Intel GPU, my M11x is completely quiet, as if it were turned off. I love it even more this way!
