    Hey guys,

I recently purchased a M11x from a UK refurbed dealer for $690, but when I got the laptop, it came with a UK keyboard with US keyboard stickers over the keys. (RETARDED!!) WATCH OUT FOR NDC. They say it's a US keyboard, but it's not. It's just a remapped UK keyboard.

Anyway, now I need to buy a normal US keyboard with the proper key placements for it. What's the best way to buy one? Who would I contact at dell?

    Thanks!!

yeah, it's pretty funny... but annoying too.. I remapped some of the keys and it's not too bad right now. I'm adjusting pretty well to the slightly different keys. I just don't want stickers on my keys. It makes them have a really weird texture.

The good thing about all of it is that it would have cost me $1000 for the same lappy new from Dell (SU7300, 4 gb of ram, 320 gb hd, bluetooth), so I still got a good deal despite getting screwed on the keyboard.

No problem! I hope I didn't come across as rude. =)

You can always look into replacing that keyboard, it's EXTREMELY easy. Once you buy a keyboard, you can refer to this video on youtube that takes the entire m11x apart. It will help you in your journey for keyboard replacement. :)

It is funny. :)) No worries.

I contacted Fabio, who I ordered a Dell Studio 14z keyboard from in the past. Hopefully he can hook me up. I also emailed the eBay seller. I threatened him that I would give him negative feedback if he didn't send me a replacement or reimburse me $50. We'll see what he says.

That is crazy that someone would do that. I have found that on occasion parts from dell are reasonably cheap. Upgraded my dads m1530 with bluetooth. Cost me 2 dollars more than ordering it with the laptop. They also provided step by step instructions on how to change it directly from the website.

    Hi Quadron

I was thinking of buying an m11x from NDC, and then I read this thread.

I knew about the semi-backlit keyboard, but I didn't know about sticker. Sticker? Really?

However I still have a question, what is the letter under the sticker? What kind of keyboard is that?

And another question, apart from the keyboard, is your m11x still okay?
