I searched and found a couple threads that mentioned this but I couldn't find any answer. I just checked and IE and Chrome are using the nvidia processor. Whitelisting them is not working. I really dont want to select the processor manually every time.

I'm using the latest official drivers.

So I just tried out the Optimus Nvidia test tool to see if the gpu was turning on when using Chrome or IE. Though it is set as the default it is not turning on, only when viewing flash video...

The latest version of flash is by default set to utilize hardware acceleration. You can turn off hardware acceleration, but that's a bad way to go about fixing the problem. You /want/ it to be accelerated, just not with the 335. The IGP can handle virtually any bitrate and resolution out there.

I'd recommend updating your driver to 258.96. I have no problem with white listing IE or Firefox and forcing them to use the IGP rather than the 335.

^Going off what slickie said, I couldn't whitelist Chrome (make it use the IGP) with the Dell drivers, but it does work with the 258.96 drivers, so no matter which browser you use, the thing to do is update your drivers using the modified ones on this forum.
