I have made my 8gb driver bootable by following user unreal25's post(using diskpart on cmd), and I loaded it with the recovery DVD. Then all of a sudden I wanted the factory image so I formatted the driver and loaded the driver using the Dell datasave local. Both of them worked like charm.

Now I want the clean OS back(the recovery DVD), but I want to keep the files from Dell Datasave in case I don't like it. Can I just copy and paste what's already on the flash drive into my external harddrive, then I copy and paste the windows 7 files into the flash drive to install a clean win 7?

And if I really didn't like the clean OS, would it be possible to just delete everything on the drive(the recovery DVD files) and load it with my files from Dell Datasave local?

Or I need to buy a brand new drive?
