According to the bios its enabled and on control panel in 'add and remove programmes' WIDCOMM bluetooth software is installed but i cant seem to find anything which indicates its on. On my old asus it could be controlled with a an FN button, and an icon used to appear in the toolbar at the bottom right near the clock. Ive got a uk model m11x so it should have a factory preinstalled dongle already.
Could anyone tell me how to access bluetooth options please?
    Cheers

Probably a icon in your taskbar area, if not try looking in your control panel for bluetooth or bluetooth places.

    Go to C:\Program Files\WIDCOMM\Bluetooth Software

Then find and click on BTTray.exe

This should put it back in the toolbar.

Keep in mind that FN-F3 will enable or disable *ALL* wireless radios in the system. This includes WWAN, WLAN and BT. There are several other threads herre on this topic if you search...

Sorry for threadjacking slightly, but I felt there was no point in making my own for something this minor.

I've picked up a refurbished unit and it didn't say whether it had Bluetooth or not in the specs; I've enabled Bluetooth in the BIOS and when i double click BTTray.exe it thinks for a second, then does nothing - does this simply mean i don't have Bluetooth?

There are blue tooth drivers you could try installing. I'm not sure if it would show in the BIOS if a BT module wasn't present. Check the device manager.
