I'm playing with my new Alienware M11x. I love it!!!

I can't seem to get the brightness setting to hold. I change it and everytime I restart it is set as the lowest setting and I have to raise it again. I've gone into properties and changed it under power settings, but still it goes back to lowest settings.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there something else I need to do to get this to hold?

I think its alienwares auto dim, I turned it off and left the normal dimmer that windows uses. I don't have any idea why I would want my computer to dim the monitor after 3 minutes but not go back? Whats the point of that?
