I'm running the newest drivers on Dell's website right now. I tried one of the newest ones a few months ago and Diablo 3 ran REALLY bad with about 1/2 the FPS as the dell ones. I reinstalled the Dell drivers and it worked well again.

I just did a fresh install on my system and I'm wondering what are the fastest video drivers for the M11x R1 currently?

Only the ones from Dell support the switchable graphics, if you use anything higher you get locked out of the IGPU.

Do any of the standalone graphics give a big boost in performance? The Dell ones are rock solid stable at least.

Nope. There may be on occasion a particular game that likes a certain driver over others... what that is in this case I do not know. The problem is it may not be the best driver for all apps/games. A crapshoot really.

I would recommend you to stay with the Dell Drivers, here is a link to the main drivers section for Alienware.

Well as i explained, they are the only drivers which support the switchable graphics. Update your drivers any further and you're locked out of the integrated GPU which can really hurt your battery life. Plus they're the most stable drivers which means less issues less crashes and almost full compatibility with all hardware.

No reason you cant turn off the intel and run latest drivers. If in your case that works best you will have the "best drivers" (for you). I'm running optimus on R1 and its the best for now for ME.

For the orig drivers I didnt find any diff really between 1xx/2xx series other than needing to run the 2xx install as admin. I'm not running latest and greatest games though.

Sure - thank you very much. I thought that there are any other contraindications to the use of other drivers.
By the way - there is a problem with installing the driver from Dell 2xx - the message "Driver not installed" - any ideas ?
    19x - is installed without a problem ..

I'm running Diablo 3 on a 22" monitor with my M11x R1 with the stock drivers and it works VERY well :)

Unfortunately, it does not help. Installation can not be continued .... and no other message . What could be wrong ?

Not sure. you can try and strip the drivers and start again - choose "clean" option during install.

I tried. There is no a big problem for today - so far I mainly play games. Maybe , a fresh install will be a cure ? - in the future.

I recently download the very last nvidia drivers on Windows 8, and where my M11X use to have difficulties running League of Legend at high framerate on native resolution , now i was able to be 50-60 fps on 1920*1080 external screen !

Just my 2 cents, Windows 8 preview + new drivers really improves perf for me.
