Hey guys, I remember being able to play arcade games like Samurai Showdown II with emulators back in the day. Now that I've got a couple of xbox controllers to play with, was wondering if anyone can suggest a good emulator to play Samurai Showdown II with my M11X on the go.

I don't think you can discuss emulators on here? However mame springs to mind :)

I actually own a lot of n64 games, and I'm interested in legally playing them on my m11x.

It is my understanding that there is either A) some type of tool you can use, or B) you can download them as long as you own a physical copy of the game.

Does anyone know for sure? I don't want to do anything illegal, even if I'm not going to get caught. Does anyone know where I could find more information about this?

    Thanks!

thanks for the reply, wasn't sure if I could or not, but if it's against the rules I'm sure the mods will take care of this post. did a little research and i don't think mame is illegal since developers release their old games for free to be played with mame.

It is still illegal, even if you legally own and possess those games. Game laws are far more strict.

Well, you have to obtain a written copy of permission from the original manufacturer of that game that allows you to possess a digital copy, which must be unmodified and in its original entirety. Been through that for a MAME cabinet.

Yes...but even owning the game it is very difficult, because you are strictly prohibited from copying the game files or getting them from an unlicensed distributor. It's not impossible, but for emulation purposes highly unlikely.

Right. This was for an arcade that already had a legit cabinet that went bad.

Did anybody do a google search? That pretty much solves the issue. You don't even need very strong google foo to get something working.

    I use Project64 for N64 games and PS2emu for Playstation 2 games...
I would suggest looking for mouse/keyboard profiles to help set controls properly like a regular FPS unless you have a controller of course...
