I saw some people on here getting Kingston hyperx ram. Is that the best for the m11x? I want 4 gb and fastest speed with lowest latencies. I saw 2 variants 1066 with Cas of 5 and 1600 with cas of 7. I'm assuming the 1066 is all I need since with the overclock that is what the bus goes too? I wouldn't get any better performance from the 1600 ram would I?

The M11x actually runs on 800mhz instead of 1066. I'm not sure why but all my monitoring softwares show it as such. The 1600mhz ram will downclock to 800 so it's a waste imo. I use the HyperX 1600 in my M11x and moved it to my M15x for future CPU upgrades. It works great.

When you run your cpu on OC it ups the speed to 1066. So you only need ram capable of 1066. Anything more is a waste as you cannot manual change any settings. There is only 1 overclock setting in the bios and that is to enable or disable overclock.

Edit: Made a mistake. FSB goes to 1066 and ram stays at 800.

Really? All my monitoring software still show it at 800mhz. Provide a screen shot? Thanks bro.

FSB of the CPU might be at 1066MHz, but I'm pretty sure the RAM is still at 800MHz.

That's what I was aware of too up to this point. Maybe RAQemUP can show a in system shot of the RAM speed.

So is it a fact that 1066 ram won't do anything (as it would be downclocked to 800) or is it just an assumption?

Fact. I have my 8GB 1333MHz kit in my M11x, still running at 800MHz.

    Here is the proof.

    Max speed = 1333MHz

    Operating Freq = 800 MHz
