Is the 3 year plan worth the extra $200? Or when I order (I'm waiting a bit still) should I try to haggle and get the extended warranty free? I would think a year would be fine, but looking for some opinions...

I didn't buy mine with a warranty. Then after it arrived I called Dell and ordered the accidental warranty. They made a deal for two years for $95. So, you can always try dealing after the fact. You have 21 days (I believe) to do so.

Not bad at all. Maybe I'll aim for something similar if I call to order (I have a feeling my girlfriend is giving me a giftcard to Best Buy to put toward a laptop, in which case I may go for the $899 model there). Guess it just depends how things pan out the next couple of weeks.

I got the one from Best Buy last week. Can't beat the deal, no build/wait time, no shipping, and it has the upgraded CPU and 4gb ram. Great deal and cheaper then Dell.

Is the $95 just in case you drop it or is it a full 2yr warranty plus accidental?

The Best Buy deal is pretty good, but I may still go through Dell and use those coupons ($100 off through arena when you spend $100, and the $50 which I've heard is stackable). Then I'll just call them up and see if I can get it any lower through EPP or something.

The only thing the BB version is missing for me is Bluetooth, but an adapter wouldn't be terrible--just trying to avoid carrying any misc. items around.

The adapter is extremely small. You will never really need to remove it from the USB port even when putting it in case. Just my .02

Can't stress this often enough: If you're in EU do not buy extra warranty. EU Law gives you standard 2 years warranty on all products. Warranty period should be the reasonably expected lifetime of a product, for laptops 3 years.

So Dell offers the EU customers the option of buying warranty they are already entitled to.

I'm in the US, so unfortunately I may have to purchase my warranty. Still good information for anyone else looking though, so thanks =)

    Here s the hint :
Most of the issues (if there s any) comes in the 1st year of buying.

So save your money for buying flowers to your mum/girlfriend ;-)

I agree, both about the warranty and the flowers. If you skip out on buying warranties then the money you will save over time will be enough to buy a replacement when you need it. Probably more...

If something bad happens with it it's probably in the first year (hardware failure) and if you buy it with a credit card in Europe you also get some warranty.
