    Hey there,

So a few months ago I noticed my battery life was significantly shorter. I contacted Dell, but they said they wouldn't do anything.

Well, no the problem is massively worse.

This is a strange issue, so it could be software, but I'm not sure.

The battery life on my laptop seems fine, but then all of a sudden, the charge %age will drop significantly. BatteryBar monitors this as well, and shows a Battery Wear of 16.8%, a Full Lifetime of 2:08.

I used a battery logger to track what was happening, and this is what I got -

    30/12/2010 17:27:28 - %72
    30/12/2010 17:29:53 - %6

The battery life literally drops from ~70% to < 10%. It's done this a few times, but this is the first time I've set up some software to log it.

    Any advice?

Contact Dell once more and tell them your battery is defective. Hopefully you still have your warranty.
