I've noticed lately that my battery is losing its charge when the machine is off. It was charged to 100% last night, I went to work today and used it around 4pm, and when I turned it on I saw it had lost 5% of the charge. Both Battery Bar and Windows 7 recognized the 5% loss.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal, or something I should be concerned about? The only thing I've changed in the past few weeks was to add an SSD drive, but I'd be surprised if that was somehow draining my battery while the computer was off.

My m11xR1 is always at 95%-96% after a startup with a fully-charged battery.
That does not mean that it is losing charge. It just means that the boot up is very power intesive or that windows and other programms can't detect the battery-level properly.

Try this: Shoot down your notebook at 50% battery, wait for a reasonable amount of time and then boot it up. The battery should be at 45%-47%.

Thanks for your suggestion, I'll give it a shot later today after my battery has drained a bit. I also have an R2, if that makes any difference. I never noticed this drain before I installed the SSD, so I am also kind of wondering if something is wrong with it.

A bit of self discharge is normal. The % charge lost varies depending on the temperature the battery is stored in. The higher the temperatures the faster it will self-discharge.

Another contributing reason could be wear on the batteries capacity. Also booting up to windows usually takes 1-2% off the battery.
