Hi guys, I have an Alienware M11xR3 with the Intel i7 2617m, 2GB GT 540M, 4GB RAM and the Killer™ Wireless-N 1103. I have today upgraded from the 250GB HDD to a 120GB OCZ Agility 3 SSD. Since reinstalling Windows 7 I have been getting BSOD fairly regularly, even though I have been installing the same drivers as before. And I have noticed that if I try to open the Nvidia control panel, it says I have no Nvidia Graphics card installed. Anyone got any ideas as I am stumped!

Was it a fresh install/clone or Alien respawn?

I installed a SSD and used Alien respawn without any hassles.

You may need to try another method.

    Regards.

it was a fresh install. Is it easier with Alien respawn? I've never tried using it!

    A walk in the park.

    Regards.

You need to uninstall the Nvidia drivers, make sure the Intel drivers are installed, and then reinstall the Nvidia drivers. Also check to see if SATA mode is set to AHCI in the bios.

i did a clean install without issues on my SSD as alienrespawn just messed it all up with some error what not, never cared for backup software anyways, best to do it manually.

issue i had though was with intel graphics drivers, i got one version it would lag like hell anything i did from browsing to using word on the intel card, nvidia card wouldn't work right with steam or many games either... i got some 15.something driver which i am on now and it works fine...

I reckon it must be a faulty/incompatible SSD. It doesn't even boot up quickly, slower than my old HDD. So I'm just putting my old one back in and just gonna keep using it! Thanks for the help anyway guys!
