    Hi,

Can the m11x, with i5 and 4GB RAM, run AutoCAD smoothly? Because I need the mobility of this one, in comparison to the m15x, but I'm a bit worried that I buy the m11x and the AutoCAD doesnt run.

    Thanks

I have not tried autocad on my m11x but it used to run on my old tosh sat pro and that was much lower spec than the m11x.

I wish I could test this for you as I also have an i5 and 4 gb of RAM and I will also be using/learning autocadd within th next year, but I don't have autoCADD ATM. Is there any trial out there that I can run to get some tests off of?

I will be amazed if the m11x cant run Autocad. I use cad on a daily basis on a old P4 with 512mb of ram w/o a gfx card & it runs fine lol. Infact it should run very smooth. I also sometimes use cad 3-D on this POS & it works ok.

The latest version of autocad requires significantly more resources than the previous versions, saying that the m11x shouldnt have a problem :)

    Using Professional 2010.

Both AutoCAD & Inventor run just fine on my M11x.

Tho, you're mileage will vary depending on how big the file you have open is.

I had Inventor & AutoCAD 2008 running on my Asus 1000HE Netbook. :p

Tho, I seem to remember one of them complaining that the screen resolution isn't high enough. This is true because some of the menu windows are slightly cut-off. I just move or hide the taskbar & it works fine. (I only have to setup my options once)
