I know the screens on the m11xs are terrible, i'm not ashamed to admit it either.

Has anyone tried a screen swap with the LCD ones one bay or some aftermarket ones?

Other than being very glossy and overly reflective... what is wrong with the quality of the M11x screen exactly? Looks fine to me.

Already been threads about this and its viability. No one's tried it yet.

Ah okay. I guess its' not worth it.

The screen isn't very good IMO but that's all relative to the user. I saw the screen ID thread and for some people the screen is fine. For me as well it's nothing that's devastatingly horrid but it is pretty bad. The viewing angle especially is very terrible and the colors are washed out. I really think that if the display was a little bit better, I'd own like 3 of these. lol

If it's that unbearable then I'd suggest buying a external monitor.

I put my M11x side-by-side to 3 different laptops today...

My Dad's HP Mini, my sister's Macbook, and my old Alienware M9700. The screen isn't washed out in any way. It's just very glossy. If yours looks *that* bad you may wanna have Dell look at it. maybe you got a bad screen.

Or maybe your standards are just way higher than mine :D

The M11x's screen isn’t bad, it’s just very, very average. Contrast ratio, brightness, and viewing angles all leave a lot to be desired, but that can be said for a lot of panels out there. I didn’t really realize how average it was until I got an 11.6” MacBook Air, which has a much better screen (IMHO).

The viewing angles suck compared to some of the other options out there and the blacks can be a washed out dark grey depending on the angle, but then again in this screen class, there isn't much out there that doesn't suck. Aside from the viewing angles and the blacks on the screen that, it's not that bad...
