The m11x just recently poped up on my radar. I've done only a bit of research regarding the hinge problem thus far. From what I've seen I find myself wondering if this problem is indeed a mechanical issue that will effect every m11x with regular usage.

Have any of you good people used an m11x for 6 months or more that did not develop a hinge problem?

On a related note, I've noticed a few folks that have had a hinge problem have gone on to purchase another m11x. I wonder if any of those folks might chime in as to what motivated them to make a second purchase? Does dells "in home" warranty service mitigate the hinge problem to the point that it's merely an annoyance rather then a deal breaker?

    Thank you.

Boat loads of owners with over 6 months of ownership are having no problems with their hinges. It's safe to say that the majority of people are hinge failure-free. It's blind luck whether or not you'll any one of us will have a problem with them. Its is a lot more common that it ought to be, but I wouldn't consider it epidemic.
