I'm new here so I apologize if this is in the wrong spot. Anyway, my M11x arrived and I was wondering if there were any specific external optical drives that would go great with an M11x. I have a small budget (again, I just bought an M11x with the $250 off promotion/coupon) so I have about $35 left. Any recommendations?

Keep an eye on newegg specials. I got an external DVD writer for $30 over Black Friday.

Possible, but in my opinion external optical drives aren't exactly a hot market, so I don't think you'll see anything drastic in a month.

I own this and it works fine. On sale at Newegg for $20 (rebate card though) until the 15th.

I just want an external optical drive to run the Alienware Respawn as well as run some older games on my notebook. If not, do you guys think I could transfer the Alienware Respawn disc data onto an external hard drive and run it from there?

Alien Respawn can also be used with a usb drive (I forget how large it needs to be), but I'm not sure about an external hdd An alternative for games is that if you have access to another computer, make image files (.iso) and then mount them as a virtual cd drive using software such as DaemonTools. However, given the low cost of external optical drives (such as the one in my first post), it's probably still the easiest solution.
