The Alienware logo below the screen sometimes lights(red) up a minute or two after I awaken then computer from sleep mode. It is lit for about a second then turns off. In AlienFX I have the logo turned off. Any ideas as to why it would be doing this?
    EDIT: I have an R2

Same thing happens on mine, but did not notice it until after I had loaded a bunch of my own software on it.

I've started noticing this as well. Can't recall exactly when it started though.

Hopefully someone can chime in with an answer Lol. So far I guess it only affects R2's.
I just pray that it isn't trying to warn me it's about to blow up!

So let me see if I understand this (I love AlienFX troubleshooting - lol),

    - you have the AW zone set to OFF.
    - powering up the system or waking from sleep will cause it to briefly illuminate and then go dark.

Have you tried to close the theme, create a new theme with the same setup as before (Alienware zone set to off)? If not, please try and see if the problem continues.

I believe what is happening is either a)the theme is glitching or, b)AlienFXController.exe is loading/resuming and is briefly lighting before load is finished. If this is the case, then it might be a bug which they will have to resolve.

Also, if you could attach the actual AlienFX theme file to your post I can take a look at the XML.

It does it on mine also. I have turned AlienFX to "go dark" and I am assuming that it is loading on startup and then realizes that the go dark mode is enabled and then shuts it off. My keyboard, grill lights, and the Alienware logo all go through this cycle when I run startup.

    Exactly what happens to mine.

Lights run, then when windows loads, it realizes it's supposed to be "dark".

With what you describe, this is normal/expected I believe. Basically, think of it this way -

    1. The AlienFX theme is saved and is active at time of power up - this will always be the case. Even if you uninstall Command Center, the last theme saved will be active.

    2. Since you have the AlienFXController set to 'go dark', as the system boots and loads all startup items (including AlienFXController.exe), it reads the 'go dark' setting and places the system into Go Dark.

I do not believe there is a way around this.

Now, if it was a specific zone which was set to off/black, then there might be an issue.

Just my 2 cents of course :)

I'm not exactly sure how to find my theme file. However I would naturally assume that it was just a start up glitch but the logo turns on as red. I have never set any part of the lighting system to red, ever. It's just something that sparked some questioning.
Otherwise I couldn't be happier with it's performance.

Sorry for refreshing an old topic, but this has started on my system and does not shut off. It is a red logo and if I turn off my alienfx it will stay red. If I turn it on the color chosen will replace the red. It has gotten a little annoying as I like to go dark sometimes to keep a discreet look. Any help??
