What is the average temperature that this laptop should be? I notice it get's pretty hot and it's not on the nvidia graphics and all I'm doing is just web browsing.

These are my readings on the core temp app.

That seems like fine, mine idles around high 30's and when gaming it goes around mid 50's

my gpu when its not charging while I play Team fortress 2 gets around 60-65
    when charging it reaches 67-70

The R1 runs pretty damn cool. Average for me I'd say is around 55C while gaming, but on a hot day it might reach 60C.

    Without cooler, or any modifications:

    Idle - 40-50 C
Gaming - 50-60 (61-70 if you have everything in max settings)
    70+ C - There's a problem with your R1. Maybe the thermal paste.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------
    With a good cooler:

    Idle - 38-43
Gaming - 45-49 (49-53 if you have everything in max settings)

I dont really know the temps, but as far as I know, they are below 30s C (Most of them on idle)

On idle-light processing the CPU should bounce from 38-45c with the fan turning off at the lower end.

Hi! I have a Alienware M11x R3 with a i5 2537M and a GT 540M. Are my idle temps to high for it?

    Idle
    CPU 50C
    GPU 40C

    Gaming Average
    CPU 68-75C
GPU not entirely sure since I don't know of
a program that records my GPU's my highest temp
like Coretemp does on my CPU
    But think its about 65-72C

I also cleaned it out yesterday. Took it all apart and cleaned out the fan and replaced the thermal on the CPU and GPU with ANTEC Formula 7 Nano Diamond Thermal Compound. Ive looked everywhere for the average temps and some people say 80-90C on both the CPU and GPU is fine but then here you guys say about 40C. I used to get throttle back all the time and currently even after playing JC2 for over an hour its fine when it would throttle back after like 5-10 minutes before so its a lot better I would just like to know the average temps. Also Ive heard about cooling Mods for it, what would I Mod it with?? Thanks! :)

BTW I am using a Cooler Master U1 11" cooling pad.

That's actually pretty good under heavy load.
