    Happy New Year!

Has there been any update as to why the Crucial SSD are not being recognized
    in an Alienware 13?

I need to purchase a SSD, and the Crucial would be my first choice, but I have
not seen or read of anyone having success with them as of yet.

This should REALLY be stickied somewhere so that everyone can be kept
up to date on this issue.

    thank you!

With the Myriad of other good SSDs you can get, I don't see why you are limiting yourself to just one SSD?

I recommend you the 840 PRO as it's much cheaper now, is an MLC SSD so it won't give you issues like the EVO (TLC based) has or the SanDisk Extreme II as it's in the same price range or if you wanna shell out a bit more than SanDisk Pro or the 850 PRO

Well, the Crucial M.2 works, but the 2.5" hasn't. And I don't think anybody has tried the mSATA (with an adapter to 2.5") in the laptop either.
Keep in mind that the SSD must be 7mm thick.
