    Hey all,

OK, so this is the 2nd time this has happened to me, once to my last m11x and now my replacement after 5 months of use. I, once again, got a crack on the plastic screen panel, from the inside. It's not the LCD itself that cracked, nor is the plastic cracking from the outside, but from the inside. The crack itself isn't large, maybe less than 1/4", but it's annoying. Anyways, is it worth the risk calling for a on-site repair? Is the a big chance that the tech will screw it up, after hearing of all the horror stories here? Also, is the BT module located in the LCD assembly? I thought it was attached to the mobo, because I recall someone telling me that there is some module actually in the LCD assembly itself... Thanks for all inputs in advance!

I think it's the WWAN antennas that are located in the LCD assembly, not BT.

Oh OK, and all M11x' have to come with WWAN antennas right? Be it R1 or R2? So I don't have to worry about the new LCD assembly from having different specs from my current configurations correct?

    1) Yes, call Alienware for support. If there is something wrong, then it should get fixed. That is what a warranty is for.

    2) If they screw it up, call them again and have them fix it again. If they still keep screwing it up, ask them to send out a different technician. Every time they send someone out, it costs them money. So it is in their interest, as well as your interest, to get the problem fixed and fixed correctly in as few trips as possible.

    3) No, not all M11x'es come with WWAN antennas - only if you ordered an M11x with the WWAN option. If you're not entirely certain whether or not you ordered the WWAN option, then you didn't order the WWAN option.

    4) Yes, all replacement parts will be of the same spec as your current configuration. If you find that it is not, call Alienware and complain. Again, it is in their best interest to adequately fix your problem in as few trips as possible.

Oh right, I remember that option now, that's the one which allows AT&T service to run on your laptop isn't it? Well, I got my computer in New Zealand, so that option, wasn't offered I believe, hence I shouldn't worry about the antennae not being in LCD right?

    Thanks again
