Hello all, I'm wondering if anyone has this problem...

A few weeks ago, I started hearing a very very obnoxious grinding sound in my cpu cooling fan. I've heard many things to try, but to no avail. One of the things I've been told is to check to see if the sealing tape is peeled back some. Well, I've taken apart the laptop twice now. There is absolutely nothing at all that it could be rubbing against. When it starts this irksome noise, it runs very high. If I tap on the top of the palm rest, just above the keyboard, it stops for a split second, then resumes. I'd really appreciate any advice on how to resolve this headache. Thank you.

99% sure the fan has a bad bearing and its just going to get worse from here on out. in fact at that point if the noise stops all of the sudden i would make sure that fan is still moving or you might over heat and start experencing random rebooting from thermal shutdown.
