My m11x got broken weeks ago because of the hinges problem, which damaged the Samsung panel within. I returned it, but was wary that I could receive an AOC one, seeing as people seemed to think it was inferior.

Once I received my laptop, I checked to see what the panel maker was, and it was AOC.

I must say that so far, although I feel that the contrast is better, it is much more disagreeable to the eye than my Samsung one. I don't know if it's because I used another netbook for weeks in the meanwhile, but it feels really really bad. The pixels are very noticeable as if I was staring at a mosquito screen. It's extremely distracting and bothersome. If it keeps being so bad, I might actually have to consider switching to another laptop altogether. I've always dreamed of a small laptop with an IPS screen, and the Lenovo X220 is at a 30% discount right now, and offers just that.

I found out I didn't use the discrete GPU anyway, because it performs really badly in comparison to any decent desktop GPU. I only play classic games on it, so Intel integrated graphics would do just fine.

Still there are things I really love about the m11x, such as the build quality, keyboard, trackpad, click buttons, speakers, and overall look and feel.

is there any chance you could contact dell /alienware and just ask them to replace it again.. if its in warrenty i think you can demand a new one... just be extra sweet and explain that you need it for work or school... nothng to lose but the cost of a phonecall

Pending other solutions can you make adjustments to compensate?
