I'm looking at getting a new laptop (getting sick of waiting for the sandy b's) and I have been looking at the Alienware m11x for some time. I only had a couple of concerns about it so far that have held me back from getting it. How is the screen for gaming? I've heard from some people that it's too small to do proper gaming on it (i'm mainly only playing games on steam, classics like doom, and Just Cause 2) and they say that text appears small but I have by no means bad eyesight. What also concerned me was the processor speed for the i5 (the processor i'm looking at getting). Is 1.066 GHz really enough to play a game like Just Cause 2 or COD: Black Ops? It seems like even overclocked it would run slowly or it would limit me to only doing a few things at once (I like to listen to videos in the background while I look and I use multiple tabs).

I can vouch and say Just Cause 2 is amazing and runs at medium-high settings
you do need to overclock if you plan on any serious gaming

The M11x can be Overclock'd, ThrottleStop'd, Pin Mod'd, FSB'd, and probably something else we don't know yet.

I do recommend this notebook for gaming. But yeah like Papa says OC is usually a necessary for games.
