I love my m11x, but the 335m is a little less than powerful enough for some of the gaming I want to be doing. It runs FFXI maxed easily (old game, but still amazing considering when FFXI came out it fried my desktop card at the time), but won't really handle FFXIV.
I also want a card with DX11 capabilities.
I do use this in bed (most comfortable way to game, imo. just have to get used to trackpad gaming), but size really isn't an issue. I almost purchased an Envy 14.
But I just love the build/look of the m11x. I'm planning on giving this model to my nephew who needs a new computer for WoW. Not sure what I'm going to do as a replacement, still looking at an Envy 14 but hoping Alienware refreshes the m11x with a 400m card before the holidays? No shot?
I hope so =(.
The i7um is fine, I just want a better card.

Haha I wish.
Guess I'm just looking for opinions.
Does AW/Dell typically refresh systems at all before the holidays?
Or mostly Q1? -
Just when you need him, Paul the psychic octopus goes belly up.
Now there's no constraints to logic. I'm going balls out on a GTX 460M, Dual-link DVI, 3D over HDMI 1.4a and DirectX 11... oh and mega much to much CUDA.
And in the winter(Christmas) the notebook will double as a heater. Brilliant, what more could one ask for. -
I would expect a full Sandy Bridge + GPU refresh in Q1.
It's so close to Mobility 6000, no one wants to refresh just to get blown out when it's released. -
Don't hold your breath. Dell isn't about to release an AW that competes with the new XPS line. Expect a refresh when a new CPU hits shelves, but not before (and definitely not before xmas).

400m before Xmas?
