I just got my hands on a samsung 32in LCD and I connected it to my m11x via HDMI. The native resolution is 720p. When I set it to that, everything looks somewhat fuzzy especially text. I've been playing around with the settings without much luck. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

    The problem is that it's a 720p monitor. 720p resolution means 1280 x 720 (although several 720p HDTV's actually have native resolutions of 1366x768).

That is a very low resolution to have on a 32" panel. By comparison, most computer monitors that have resolutions around 720p are 19" in size. The resolution is fine when you're playing games or watching video, but will be blurry / pixelated when viewing text. There is no setting you can change or driver you can download to fix this. The only way around it is to either live with the problem, or replace the HDTV with another display that has a higher resolution (32" 1080p would be fine).

TVs will always make horrible PC monitors. At 32in, even FullHD (1920x1080) will look fuzzy. You need higher resolution, which no TV will give you. You need to go with a hybrid, like the FX2490HD which I just got. It's amazing! It is 1920x1080, but in a smaller size (24in). Thus, compressing the pixels and being sharper.

I have to disagree with you here. I use a Sharp Aquos 32" 1080p HDTV as a primary computer monitor, and I like it just fine.

I primarily use that machine as a gaming / video machine, but it works just fine with text as well. The key is to get a good HDTV with decent brightness and contrast ratios. If you get a cheap display (HDTV or monitor), it will look horrible no matter what resolution you set it to.

Its all about personal tastes as well. Obviously the guy above loves the way his 32" looks. Of course there are good lcd tvs and bad, but the fact is the resolution kinda sucks. Computer monitors have been spitting out XXXX x 768/720 for years and years and years now. Televisions are jsut now hittin xxxx x 1080. So if you imagine a 42" lcd at XXXX x 1080 and compar it to a 24" lcd at the same resolution then of course the 24 is going to look crisper. The lines of resolution are smushed closer and fill a smaller area and therfore look a lot better.

My suggestion would be to get a 1080p set if you plan on using your TV as a computer montior. The higher the resolution the better. However again, to each there own. I am a web designer and photographer, so LD tv's do not wor for me as a monitor.

Most 720p HDTVs are 1366x766, well, new ones, and by new, I mean 4 years to today...

    I have a 26" HDTV 720p and is 1366x766, there is a 42" Plasma 720p (7 years old) and is 1366x768 in res....

Weird that my m11x 11" screen has the same resolution than a 42" screen...

My parents want to change that old tv for a new one, and I´m gonna grab it, I played some games with the m11x there, and they look awesome, I own a 32" 1080p LCD Samsung, but I always liked more the Plasma picture....
