How is it performing on your system? I keep getting BSOD when I play Starcraft II and Warcraft III...both games will BSOD even on low settings.
Problem is that I am not sure if installing an older driver will fix this issue.
-
-
I have no issues at all,in fact,I think they are the best drivers yet..Gears of War,Bioshock 2,Medal of Honor..no problems.
-
Been using them basically since release... no problems, however every system is different.
-
Depending what you play you will hear different results. For instance, I play CoD, homefront, WoW and portal. Though it improves FPS in all of them (barely but its still there) WoW opens to a black screen with audio. So, I rolled back to 267.xx. Other than that I hear everyone is enjoying it.
For your issue: I might as well install an older driver (260.99 is said to be most stable) and see if the problem persists. Besides it doesn't take much to do it, if it still happens then I would consider stress testing your hardware and go from there with Dell Service if it occurs. -
I figured that I should try that driver. Any other advices?
-
Have you overclocked anything prior to the BSOD?
-
-
I rolled back to 267 - my FPS dropped in a couple of games and I started getting BSoD when testing with 3dmark06. Switched back and no problems.

Hello,
I just downloaded and installed the 270.61 drivers from nVidia. The old drivers I used was 260.99 I think. Anyway, when I try to play 'any' game, I will get a BSOD and it's saying something about nvlddmkm.sys.
What's up with this? The programs I'm running when playing is Ventrilo and Steam, plus the rest of the Alienware stuff. ANd yes, the games are whitelisted.
Thanks -
try to reinstall the driver? or unistall and install it again?
-
Edit: I found a tutorial on YouTube to fix this issue, do you think it may work? YouTube - How to fix the nvlddmkm.sys Bluescreen Windows 7 - NEW!!!
Read the video description for a step by step guide. -
well maybe work...give it a try and see what happens!

definitely you have a problem with the drivers, the only thing i can think of is to uninstall the nvidia drivers reboot and reinstalling but you told me that you did ... I imagine that your M11 is a few days ago, "'tried with a clean installation? may be not is a nvidia problem, but with another driver that is causing conflict ....¿tried to download the drivers again? I say this thinking that for some reason it fails to when you download it....are you sure about the driver version ... OS, x32/x64?
EDIT: if none of the options you have proven solve the problem, i think a clean install of windows will require..OR back to old driver version -
I found this on the 'm11x r3 and the GPU' thread, though you probably want to read the whole thread (only 2 pages). Maybe it could help.
-
got similar issue but in my case it usually involve overlocking.
do u have any ol ??
my temps were ok but i did not stop bsod.
what did help u? -
If you're going to uninstall and reinstall the graphics drivers, it's best to use something like ccleaner to completely remove the drivers and clean up the registry between installations.
-
If anyone can double check. I just also noticed that the 'Change desktop resolution' option is gone...
-
Uninstall, boot to safe mode and run DriverSweeper. Then try to reinstall.

I updated to the new drivers on my m11x r2 about a week ago. I've been gaming on them fine though I have noticed a few insignificant hiccups in some things, it was running fine.
Then tonight while trying to look up videos on youtube I hit the BSOD twice within 20 minutes with the error that some others have been getting (ntldv or some thing like that.) I went back to the 270.51's I've been using for awhile now and hope to have no trouble.
Wondering if anyone has had this issue or collecting information on what happened:
Did not catch the exact name of the error both in both cases it was part of the driver, it happened while changing youtube videos, once while I was opening something to full screen and once while I was clicking farther in the video. In both cases the sound became that of a machine gun and the entire laptop locked up. It stayed in the lock up for less than 10 seconds before the BSOD would visit me.
Any other questions or help I can give please let me know, I don't mind being a guinea pig if someone might know what it was that was so corrupt in those drivers. -
Yup, same here. All I play are SCII and WoW and they BSOD randomly with the 270.61.
-
Alrighty, So I had no problems at all till I installed the patch. A few blue screens later and I rolled back.
Uninstall, restart in safe mode, ccleaner and sweeper, restart in safe mode and install old drivers, restart again.
I still have the BSOD in the same kind of context. Ironically it will run fine in games as far as I have seen and only messes up in higher pitched sounds on youtube.
Anyone out there have any ideas as to what causes it? I'm sure that I can fix it I just want to know what caused it so I can avoid it (Though I am sure that the cause is something to do with the new video drivers I can't eliminate everything else yet)
UPDATE: After some rigorous testing I have found that a system restore back to before I uninstalled my other drivers seemed to have fixed the problem. I ended up reinstalling the old drivers (Since the restore was actually after the drivers were uninstalled) and have been flying around on youtube for the last hour or so with no problems.
I will re-update this if things change, but as of now with no definite way of causing the error I can't swear that it worked. -
How do you get older drivers? I can't find them on the geforce website?
I'm doing a fresh install today. I dont play WOW or Starcraft but I do Youtube so is it best to stay away from these? -
Not sure if I can link them due to forum rules, but here they are, if they are not allowed to be linked, please feel free to remove this and accept my apology.
NVIDIA DRIVERS 270.51 BETA
Those are for Windows 7 64bit.
If you want to get older drivers from Nvidia, when you get to the screen that lets you select you system, just hover over the downloads link at the top and you will see a section for archived and beta drives. Click that link and follow the rest as normal it will give you a list of all drivers that match your hardware.
So far no error though I had to hit bed and have not had a chance to continue testing it. If you do browse youtube a lot do avoid the 270.61 drivers. Go with the 267.76s or the 270.51s I have had great stability with those both clocking and not. I did hear some people saying there were problems with the 267s, but I never had any.
TL;DR: Grab the 270.51s from my link up there if it is still there, they have been the best to me so far. -
i don't think nvidia will delete the drivers off their own site so quickly: most likely will just go into the archived drivers section.

270.61 drivers cause severe FPS drops in Minecraft. I'm getting below 15FPS.
-
All 270 series so far making my R2 overheats when playing Sims 3 and Heroes of Newerth. The machine works fine with 260 series drivers.
I called Dell and they said they'll come to replace my motherboard. -
decided to go back to the 270.51 beta drivers.
-
Great, just my luck. I got my mobo replaced, and the new mobo cant detect the charger and giving me the 'plugged in, but not charging' status.
hello again dell support! -
Do you have charging enabled in the bios?
-
-
Yes. And its the same before I updated. So I figure this would get rid of that. It doesnt.
Dell support promised me another new mobo tomorrow. -
I still prefer 270.51 beta over 270.61, the latest one will give me BSOD even at default clock rates...
-
with the 270.61 i cant play wow in full-screen, only in windowed mode
-
Yikes, Insane amount of problems. I won't be updating.
Thanks for the feedback everyone
