I have seen lots of threads where they are comparing the M11x to a 14 inch laptop. I see that as a compliment that they are comparing a bigger laptop to match it's specs, it will be equivelant of comparing a 15 inch to a 17 inch laptop. I went and found my wife's old Dell 1401 which is a 14 inch laptop and took pictures of it. So you can see the physical diference between a M11x and a 14 inch laptop (1401 man I remember thinking the 1401 was small compared to my 1705). Here are the pics I promice. (BTW my wife now uses a D420 which is just a tiny bit longer than than the M11x) My wife wants my M11x I told her when the new revision comes out I will give her mine. :D

I wish they would've considered creating a 12" machine instead of being so dead-set on squeezing the M11x into the "11-inch" category. More width would've meant a wider, less-compromising keyboard, perhaps along with less depth. They might've even been able to make it a bit thinner, although 1.3" certainly isn't too thick considering the specs. And call me old-fashioned, but I would've taken 1280x800 over 1366x768 in a heartbeat.

Actually I been playing quite a bit on it. I want to say after gaming on it for an hour my eyes got used to the screen. Been playing phyconauts on it now. I got an Xbox 360 controller and hooked it up. Its been a blast.

screensize in my opinion hasn't been an issue at all, and absolutely love the size of the machine itself.

    Great package.

    Hi,

i am interested in the m11X Alienware.
working with lots of design software and need a really powerfull travel (small) laptop. i heard about a new revision but need one asap. does anybody now about time and date? i don't want to buy me one and in one week they might come out with a bigger processor or so.

    Any ideas?

Or can someone recommend me a powerful small machine?

Computex is right around the corner (June 1-5), they are probably going to announce it them. It was already accidentally confirmed to be releasing in that month.

See that picture illustrates a kinda irk I have with the m11x advertised as an 11". The bezel makes it practically a 13 inch laptop. On paper, consumers can assume that the 14" will be roughly 3 inches larger than the M11x, but that picture shows only about an inch of a difference.

I wish in the future for Alienware to either make the bezel narrower or stop kidding themselves and make an m13x

Wrong, there's over a 1.5" of difference between the M11x and DELL 13z (13.3") when i compared them - meaning to fill the screens frame you'd be looking at around 12.5"... you show me a laptop that is all screen no frame.

The OP should measure the physical difference, looks like it's at LEAST 2" smaller than the inspiron.

Ugh, it's just way too small. How in the hell do you people handle gaming in that such a small screen?
