    I've had my R2 for less than a month and the soft black coating is already starting to peel. Is this normal? Are there any options available to "fix" it?

    I was in the exact same situation as you are. Call alienware and they'll probably ask for pictures. I had to send mine into to the repair depot. This was over a.week ago and I'm still waiting.
