Hi all,
I'm quite interested in M11x R3 for its good balance between graphic performance and form factor. But I often need to work on a large monitor with high resolution (> 1920x1200).
I would like to know if it's smooth to connect M11x R3 to Dell u2711 (2560x1440) via DisplayPort. I won't require 3D performance under this resolution, since I will mainly work on photo processing tasks. Any experience?
Cheers!

Running my 2711 via displayport has resulted in a very good display quality, so I'm guessing you'll get the same. I ran it from a Quadro 2700M, so a fairly low to middlin chip which the 540M exceeds by a small amount.
So while I don't have an M11x, the 2D quality from a capable Nvidia chip is quite good.
Hope it helps. Sorry I don't have an M11x. -
I have a couple of U2410 monitors which I connect to my M11xR1 via DisplayPort and HDMI.
They seem to work fine so you shouldn't have a problem with a U2711. -
I have a M11x R1 and a U2711. Displayport connection works fine. Looks a million times better than the lappy screen.
